Neptune renders storms in three dimensions over real terrain, runs its own forecast instead of reselling someone else's, and shows you how accurate that forecast has actually been. No ads, no tracking, and nothing about you is ever sold.

That's the built-in terminal. Type the query language, or just ask a question and Neptune works out the query, runs it, and reads the answer back off the result.
We wanted to create a truly next generation weather application that is capable of adapting as fast as the weather changes. Our commitment is to provide accuracy, reliability, and transparency to our users. We strive to listen to our users and provide them with the best possible experience and continue to build groundbreaking features that are not available in any other weather application.
Privacy is another huge factor here at Neptune. Users shouldn't have to worry about their data being sold or tracked. We don't collect any data that isn't necessary for the app to function. The infrastructure needed to sell your data doesn't even exist in our architecture. Everything is hyperfocused on providing the best experience for our users. We want users to feel like they get more than what they pay for which is why we are always listening to our community and improving every day.
You can fly through the storm
Flat radar tells you where the rain is, but very little about what the storm is doing. Neptune decodes the entire NEXRAD volume and builds a real surface for every reflectivity band, then renders it over real elevation terrain. You can tilt underneath a storm, fly into the core, and see how tall and how organised it actually is. When a ridge hides the far side of a cell, that is real terrain doing it.
A supercell approaching, drawn on the same dBZ scale the app uses. Sub-20 dBZ echo is drizzle and mist, not rain. The scale is calibrated to the NWS convention rather than exaggerated for effect.
- Two hours of scan history behind you, scrubbable frame by frame.
- Four hours of futurecast ahead, from radar extrapolation blended with HRRR simulated reflectivity.
- Hail and rotation detection, with storm motion and arrival times.
- A cross-section tool that slices a cell open vertically, so you can see the overhang and the core aloft.
- Model mode. Swap live radar for raw HRRR or GFS reflectivity when you want what the model thinks rather than what the radar saw.
- Field layers on the same globe: temperature, precipitation, wind as moving particles, satellite cloud, and GOES lightning strikes.
We run our own forecast
Rather than passing along a single vendor feed, we blend nine forecast sources and correct each variable against what was actually observed in your region. That correction retunes itself as new observations arrive, so it learns each model's bias where you live rather than in general. When the models disagree, we show you that instead of hiding it, because knowing how settled a forecast is matters as much as the forecast itself.

- Confidence bands on temperature, wind, humidity and precipitation chance, so you can tell a settled forecast from a guess.
- What each model says, side by side, whenever you want to see the raw disagreement instead of the blend.
- Written day narratives with the numbers that matter picked out of the sentence, not bolted on beside it.
- Minute-by-minute precipitation for the next hour, from the radar nowcast.
We publish our own error
Every weather app claims to be the most accurate, but none of them will show you the numbers. We keep a verification record for your location: every forecast we made, checked against what actually happened. You can open it any time. If we are doing worse than the National Weather Service where you live, that is exactly what it will say.

A weather app you can query
There is a real query language underneath the app. temp wind next 12h. precip sum last 7d. top 5 windiest days. Twenty years of local climate records, hourly history, percentiles and thresholds are all reachable in a single line.
You don't have to learn any of it. Ask a question in plain English and Neptune works out the query, shows you the table it ran, and writes a sentence explaining it. All of that happens on your device, so what you ask never leaves your phone.
Warned where you actually are
Severe weather, rain starting, lightning, hail, rotation, and an optional morning summary. Alerts follow your device rather than only the cities you saved, so a warning reaches you where you actually are instead of where you last opened the app.
When a storm is heading your way it can also run as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, counting down to arrival without you having to open anything.

No ads, no trackers, nothing sold
Location is the most sensitive thing your phone knows, and weather apps have a bad reputation for what they do with it. Neptune has one source of revenue and it is your subscription. That means we have no reason to collect anything the app does not need to work, and no reason to build the machinery that would sell it.
What Neptune does not do:
- Advertising, or any ad network.
- Analytics and crash-reporting SDKs.
- Third-party libraries, of any kind.
- The advertising identifier, or cross-app tracking.
- Data brokers. Nothing about you is ever sold.
- Your payment details. Apple handles billing and we never see a card.
What that means in practice:
- Permission is escalated, not demanded. Neptune asks for “While Using” first, and only asks for “Always” if you turn on notifications, which by their nature have to work when the app is closed.
- One point, not a trail. We store your device's current position and overwrite it. There is no location history to leak, subpoena, or sell.
- You choose the resolution. 1 km, 5 km, or 15 km. A device that hasn't moved in seven days stops being monitored automatically.
- Your calendar stays yours. The Plans feature reads events on-device. Titles, notes and attendees never leave your phone; what syncs is an opaque hash, a coordinate and a time window.
- Delete means delete. Settings → Account → Delete Account, immediately, from inside the app. No email, no support ticket, no retention window.

One subscription covers everything. Your saved places, units and accent colour follow your account onto every device you sign into, so the app looks and behaves the same everywhere.

We use Neptune every day ourselves, and the things that annoy us get fixed first. If something is wrong or missing, tell us. That is genuinely how the list gets made.
Neptune is built on public data. Our servers pull from the sources below and do the blending, verification and rendering ourselves, so none of them are ever told anything about you.
